There’s a fantastic new link on the sidebar: Mentoring Biblical Womanhood. This link contains a series of lessons and handouts from the women of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, the church from which my husband was ordained.
Mount Calvary is an unusual place. When I first moved to Greenville, I couldn’t figure out why over 1,000 people would willingly cram themselves into an auditorium that seats about 800 max and then suffer through a sermon that lasted well over an hour! I figured it out soon enough, though, and there I was, like the rest of ‘em, getting to church an hour early to find a seat and a parking spot.
Though lots of churches claim to be committed to the Scriptures, Mount Calvary proves their commitment by the great time and attention they actually give to the Scriptures. I’m grateful for the short time I had there.
I’m excited about reading what the women at Mount Calvary have to say about womanhood and motherhood because I knew these women. I watched them and I watched their children. Mrs. Arnold, especially, raised an exceptionally fine clan of young men, the likes of which I have never seen elsewhere. I didn’t know her personally, but I want to learn something from her! I hope you will take the time to read over these ladies’ writings. I can’t wait to dig into them myself, and….there’s more to come!

This looks really good. I think we should do a class on this material at Charity. I miss our summer sessions that we had with the girls.
“I miss our summer sessions that we had with the girls.”
Yeah, me, too. Maybe we can go over some of these things at our monthly get-together, which, by the way, I haven’t planned for this month. I better get on that!
Oh wow! Thanks for this link!
