Futurefaith so eloquently expresses the need for Christians to embrace knowledge with a God-central world-view and not fear that learning is somehow in opposition to godliness.
In acknowledging that God is preeminent in our lives and is author of this world we should gain a bigger picture of God rather than a smaller one. Self interferes when we stop recognizing that Gods knows all, and our understanding is only partial. (1 Cor. 13:12)
May we have patience with those within the church (sadly often leaders) who choose to be skeptical of a person because he or she is highly trained or educated and values learning and knowledge! Unless that person is arrogant or lacks godly discernment, they should be welcomed warmly as helpful assets to the body of Christ.
